This Thursday past saw us heading out to a private track-day at Lakeside International Raceway just north of Brisbane to let the S2000 free on the track for the first time. A huge thanks to Rob Thompson, owner of Plan Build Homes, who hired the track for the day and invited us along for a run.

Now, driving on the road had given us the impression that our 10kg/mm spring rates and suspension set-up had cured the S2000's well known bump steer issues under heavy cornering - Lakeside proved us wrong! At almost any moderate to high speed corner on the circuit, we had a very scary rear end on the car. It would turn in, load up, twitch, jump, roll and then dive in more from the rear. This made it damn near impossible to drive at any more than 7 tenths without feeling you would end up in the barrier. Given we had to drive it home too - this was not an option.
Either way, it was a great day out at the track with some great people. We will soon have some Spoon Zero Bump Steer bits for the front and rear on their way to the door to sort our problems. Also, we must again thank Rob for letting us do some laps in the Aston Martin V8 Vantage and BMW M3, which one must admit is a good way to end the day! We also had the GOPRO cam strapped to the cars and will have these vids up for you soon! For now enjoy the pics...

This is what we need here in Australia and everywhere else for that matter. In a world where motor racing now requires huge drives to circuits so far from civilisation that horses must be cleared before the track is used - here is an event requiring little more than a suburban car park and some cones. Gymkhana combines the skills of almost all forms of motorsports and compacts them into an informal, fun yet competitive format - hell yes.

Not much to say about this one - only that as it is in America there will be no loss of license or draconian infringement notice given - so we can laugh at this guy's misfortune. Note to Self - never rely on the guys filming you to tell you of oncoming dangers or police - as at the end of the day, it is far funnier not to.

This weekend past saw the annual King of Drift event at Queensland Raceway bring out some of the best drifting seen in the area in one place in some time. We headed out and invited the Auzrun Lexus ISF down as a chase came car. Short story? It was a much less insanely hot day than last year with more cars. more spectators and more police strangely enough...

The Auzrun ISF was not about to be outrun by the import boys and stayed right on their tails to grab some great footage from the GOPRO Cameras on board. By far the stand out of the day was the expression session where the nice folk at QR allowed the drifters to use corners 1, 2, the dipper 4 and 5 - if you have been to QR you know what that means when someone is going to drift turn one. Now the guys from Nihon were down a number of years ago and were carrying 160kph into the entry to turn one and while it took a while to build up to it, we think some of the field was approaching this too.
A massive thanks for Racetape Extra-Awesome Super Member Bernard for heading out on the shoot with us and to Auzrun and Lexus for supplying the great ISF. For the moment, we have some pretty shots from the day for your viewing pleasure with some more video from the Auzrun Lexus on the way. Enjoy!

And here we go with what may very well have been the most photographed stand at the entire show - the Auzrun/Make a Wish Foundation charity Supercar Display - not something you hear everyday! With $2500 raised for charity over 2 days of the show and one lucky individual winning 12 hot laps in the Ultima GTR, we must say it was a good weekend and a great showing!

The Auzrun ignites Australia in November of this year and you can enter at www.Auzrun.com!
