PORSCHE RELEASES A COMPLETELY NEW MODEL THAT ISNT BASED ON A 911 - CONFUSES PAGANI AND KOENIGSEGG
Honestly, I am amazed with the 918 Spyder above. Quite clearly based on a Le Mans Carrera GTS of the last century, it is beautiful to look at. It couples a 500hp V8 with 200hp from axel mounted electric motors with more torque than the planet to give over 700hp - and 78mpg if your interested (although if you are interested in that you are lost and were looking for greenpeace.com I'd imagine). This is where 'electric' cars should be going, not the way of the Prius... That said, we are a bit iffy as to the numbers on the 918. All sounds great, with a sub 7:30 (faster than Carrera GT) lap of the ring expected, but what about battery life? After 40 mins you have not got 700hp, you have 500. Also suddenly you are evil again and polluting the world with you petrol death machine. That is until you plug it into the wall and use someones larger, coal powered death machine to charge it...like we all should...apparently...
